Peptide Name: KinSub6RPLSP
Product Use: For assaying the phosphotransferase activity of Serine/threonine-protein kinase 16 (MPSK1, UniProt ID O75716). The KinSub6RPLSP peptide demonstrated medium phosphotransferase activity with TXK, and exhibited medium specificity when assayed with over 200 other protein kinases. A listing of other kinases that show appreciable phosphotransferase activity towards this peptide are listed in Table 1.

Scientific Background: MPSK1 is one of several protein kinases that can phosphorylate KinSub6RPLSP. Human MPSK1 is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of 305 amino acid length, with a predicted molecular mass of 34,656 Da. It is a member of the Other group of protein kinases in the NAK family. This kinase is expressed in most tested human tissues from moderate to high levels. MPSK1 is particularly expressed in lymphocytes, skeletal muscle, liver, and adipose tissue (1). Orthologues of MPSK1 are highly conserved in animals, plants and unicellular eukaryotes.
