Peptide Name: ENO2 (22-28) pY25
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the ENO2-pY25 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN512) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the Enolase_N domain. This is one of the major in vivo phosphorylation sites in ENO2. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: VDL-pY-TAK
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: ENO2 (gamma-enolase) catalyzes the biochemical reaction: 2-phospho-D-glycerate = phosphoenolpyruvate + H2O. This reaction is part of the metabolic pathway by which pyruvate is produced from D-glyceraldehyde 3 -phosphate. It also has neurotrophic and neuroprotective properties on a broad spectrum of central nervous system (CNS) neurons.
