Peptide Name: PIK3R2 (461-467) pY464
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the PIK3R2-pY464 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN528) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the region between the two SH2 domains in the protein. This is the major in vivo phosphorylation site in PIK3R2. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: DQL-pY-EEY
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: PIK3R2 is a regulatory subunit of phosphoinositide-3-kinase (PI3K), a kinase that phosphorylates PtdIns(4,5)P2 (Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate) to generate phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PIP3). This phospholipid plays a key role by recruiting PH domain-containing proteins to the membrane, including Akt isoforms and PDPK1, and activates signaling cascades involved in cell growth, survival, proliferation, motility and morphology.
