Peptide Name: ESYT1 (819-825) pY822

Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the ESYT1-pY822 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN514) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the fourth C2 domain. This is the major in vivo phosphorylation site in ESYT1. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.

Related Product 1: ESYT1 - pY822 phosphosite-specific antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN514)

Scientific Background: ESYT1 binds glycerophospholipids in a barrel-like domain and may play a role in cellular lipid transport. It binds calcium (via the C2 domains) and translocates to sites of contact between the endoplasmic reticulum and the cell membrane in response to increased cytosolic calcium levels. It helps to tether the endoplasmic reticulum to the cell membrane and promotes the formation of appositions between the endoplasmic reticulum and the cell membrane.
