Product Number: PE-04AVC01
Size:      $US
Peptide Name: ICK (162-168) pT162+pY165

Product Use: This phosphopeptide may be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the protein kinase catalytic domain activation T loop region between subdomains VII and VIII. T162 and Y165 phosphorylations are predicted to inhibit phosphotransferase activity.

Scientific Background: ICK is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the CMGC group and RCK family. It displays sequence similarity to the MAP kinases in the catalytic domain and the requirement for dual phosphorylation for activation within a MAP kinase-like TDY motif. ICK functions in the regulation of proliferation and differentiation in intestinal cells. Impairing ICK function has been shown to dowregulate the translation of specific targets of eIF4E and S6K1 (e.g. cyclin D1 and c-Myc) mediated through the mTOR/Raptor signalling pathway. Additionally, ICK homologuess in algae and invertebrates function in the formation of flagella and in ciliogenesis.
