Peptide Name: EEF1A1 (138-144) pY141

Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the EEF1A1-pY141 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN509) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the middle of the GTP_EFTU domain. This is the second major in vivo phosphorylation site in EEF1A1. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.

Related Product 1: EEF1A1 - pY141 phosphosite-specific antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN509)

Scientific Background: EEF1A1 promotes the GTP-dependent binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the A-site of ribosomes during protein biosynthesis. It forms a comple with PARP1 and TXK that acts as a T helper 1 (Th1) cell-specific transcription factor and binds the promoter of IFN-gamma to directly regulate its transcription, and is thus involved importantly in Th1 cytokine production.
