Peptide Name: GIT1 (542-548) pY545

Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the GIT1-pY545 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN517) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the last third of the protein before the GIT1_C domain. This is the major in vivo phosphorylation site in GIT1. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.

Related Product 1: GIT1 - pY545 phosphosite-specific antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN517)

Scientific Background: GIT1 is a GTPase-activating protein for the ADP ribosylation factor family. It may serve as a scaffold to bring together molecules to form signalling modules controlling vesicle trafficking, adhesion and cytoskeletal organization. It increases the speed of cell migration, as well as the size and rate of formation of protrusions, possibly by targeting PAK1 to adhesions and the leading edge of lamellipodia. Sequesters inactive non-tyrosine-phosphorylated paxillin in cytoplasmic complexes.
