Peptide Name: PLCG1 (780-786) pY783

Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the PLCG1-pY783 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN530) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the intervening region between the second SH2 domain and the SH3 domain in PLCG1. This is one of the major sites of in vivo phosphorylation of PLCG1. Y783 phosphorylation stimulates phospholipase activity and regulates cell motility and molecular association, including inducing interaction with Grb2 and VEGFR-2.

Related Product 1: PLCG1 - pY783 phosphosite-specific antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN530)

Scientific Background: PLCG1 mediates the production of the second messenger molecules diacylglycerol (DAG) and 1D-myo-inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) from the hydrolysis of 1-phosphatidyl-1D-myo-inositol 4,5-bisphosphate. It becomes activated in response to ligand-mediated activation of receptor-type receptor-tyrosine kinases, such as PDGFRA, PDGFRB, FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3 and FGFR4. By virtue of its SH2 domains, PLCG1 binds to tyrosine-phosphorylates receptors and become activated by direct tyrosine phosphorylation by these receptors. It participates in actin reorganization and cell migration.
