Peptide Name: KHS1 (171-177) pS174

Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the KHS1-pS174 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK671) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the protein kinase catalytic domain activation T loop region between subdomains VII and VIII. S174 phosphorylation is predicted to be stimulatory for phosphotransferase activity.

Related Product 1: KHS1 - pS174 phosphosite-specific antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK671)

Scientific Background: KHS1 (MAP4K5) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the STE group and STE20 family. It has been proposed to be upstream of the JUN N-terminal pathway and may respond to environmental stresses. A mutation in KHS1, K49R, inhibits the kinase phosphotransferase activity and inhibits downstream JNK proteins.
